An increasingly diverse and multilingual workforce provides an organization a myriad of benefits. It also affects their hiring practices and day-to-day operations—presenting new, but manageable, challenges. LUNA provides counsel and cultural training to solve business challenges efficiently and cost-effectively by improving communication in your multicultural workforce. We offer a variety of trainings for both leadership and associate employees that can be tailored to your organization’s specific population needs and inclusion-related challenges. As a complement to our cultural training, we always promote the development and use of a proper language access plan to ensure you’re prepared for any language need that may arise.
Course Description
While always fully customizable, our cultural training offerings typically fall within four primary categories: Diversity and Inclusion, Cultural Competency, Hidden Bias, and Language Access.
- Diversity—Identifying, understanding, and becoming sensitive to differences in race, gender, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, abilities, religion, communication styles, tone of voice, physical mannerisms, and attitudes. Avoiding “Us” vs. “Them” mentality with a diverse cross-section of talent in a team
- Inclusion—Learning to foster respect for and appreciation of these differences. Ways to celebrate staff differences, like sharing holidays and customs
- Hidden Bias—Becoming aware of unconscious bias, which is often a challenge in a homogeneous group
