Multi-Language Ethics Party
This free event series provides a space for all language interpreters to have confidential and safe conversations about the various codes of ethics that govern the field of interpreting and real-life scenarios. Discuss different approaches and perspectives on ethical components of our work over pizza.
Local Legal Lessons
Led by LUNA court certified staff interpreters, this series discusses a variety of topics relevant to the world of court interpreting—from the basic ins and outs, to specialized topics like interpreting for juvenile court. This lecture series is a great way to stay in the know on issues facing the legal interpreting world.
Terps Talks
Engage in open discussion on professional subjects like ethics, personal business practices, and certification plans at this one-hour “brown bag” lunch.

These information sessions cover specific fields of interpreting, like mental health or interpreting surgery, and always provide continuing education resources for those interested.
Improving English Proficiency
This intensive workshop focuses on core terminology in the legal and medical settings. The workshop prepares interpreters for the written English exams required for national certification in the medical and legal fields. Workshop content includes:
- General vocabulary building and tools and resources to build vocabulary, such as learning how to look at the etymology of words
- Practice with grammar and typical errors known as fossilized speech
- Common idiomatic expressions
