What We Offer
Virtual interpreting is a video-telecommunication service that is used when both the client and the persons with Limited English proficient or Deaf or hard of hearing are virtually meeting through a teleconferencing platform (for example, a multilingual meeting through Zoom). The interpreter will join the client’s virtual meeting or webinar and ensure both parties’ messages are being fully understood.
Clients can utilize their own teleconferencing platforms if they already have those in place. LUNA can also set up a virtual meeting for the host and the team members or audience to facilitate communication. Here are Zoom’s online instructions for establishing one user as a language interpreter during a session or meeting. We recommend that a minimum internet speed of 1 MBPS (megabytes per second) is provided to ensure that effective visibility is provided for comprehension of ASL. Check your internet speed here.
We can easily schedule virtual interpreting appointments around the clock in select languages and can provide this service to clients anywhere in the world. LUNA will charge our hourly interpreting rates, billing in 15 minute increments after the minimum is reached per our normal policy.
