LUNA is proud to be a community partner of Exodus Refugee Immigration, an organization with the mission “to establish self-sufficient lives in freedom and sanctuary for themselves and their families in Indiana.” For the past 34 years, Exodus has done just that for thousands of refugees from over 20 countries.  In 2015 alone, they anticipate welcoming an estimated 850 refugees to the Indianapolis area.

LUNA and Exodus intersect not only in the promotion of equal access to services for people entering our community who do not speak English, but in the professional development of many refugees who have come to LUNA to receive training and work opportunities either as a contract interpreter or on our staff.   Because of this connection, LUNA sees the impact this amazing organization has on the community on a regular basis.

LUNA is thrilled to announce that for the second year in a row it will be a Humanitarian sponsor for Exodus’ The Life Ahead Gala. This year’s event is being held on Thursday, August 20th from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at The Conrad Hotel. The event is Exodus’ most important fundraiser of the year!

The 2015 gala’s featured speaker is Erol Kekic, Director of the Immigration and Refugee Program for Church World Service. Kekic, in his current role since 2008, focuses on developing sustainable solutions and humanitarian protection linking development and disaster relief for refugees. In addition to the featured speaker, the event also includes cultural performances and a silent auction.

Tickets for the event are $125 each and include Syrian inspired cuisine and beer and wine. Sponsorships are also available beginning at $1,000. For sponsorship information or general information about the event, contact Liz Standiford, Director of development at or 317-921-0836.  To register, go to
