Withholding and Paying Taxes as a Contractor

Withholding and Paying Taxes as a Contractor

Are you new to working as a contractor? Do you need guidance in withholding and paying your taxes? If so, this ZOOM workshop is for you!

$10 / ticket – Receive your ZOOM invite upon registering.

With 18 years of experience as an IRS taxpayer advocate, LUNA’s presenter Steve Heller guides contractors through the processes of estimating, withholding, and paying federal, state, and local taxes. His explanations of tax forms, deadlines, and often overlooked considerations empower contractors toward an informed and disciplined approach of paying taxes on time and without penalty. To make this workshop more hands-on, Steve provides participants the necessary tax form templates. Participants are also welcome to bring their past W2’s and 1099’s to ask specific questions of Steve.

LUNA intends for this workshop to be pertinent and practical for contracted interpreters. The learning objectives are to be able to:

– estimate how much money to withhold from paychecks

– make use of W2’s, 1099’s, and Schedules C and SE

– itemize business-related expenses that could be deductible

– pay taxes on time and without penalty

This workshop is conducted in spoken English and is a language neutral event. If you require ASL interpreting accommodations, please email training@luna360.com by March 18.
