In 2019, there were 28.4 million foreign-born people in the U.S. labor force, comprising 17.4 percent of our total national workforce [U.S. Bureau of Labor statistics]. Here in Indiana, we have welcomed refugees from more than 160 countries and have over 100 languages used among our residents.
With a robust manufacturing and logistics sector in Indiana, many of our limited English proficient, or LEP, community members have found meaningful employment opportunities in the wide variety of warehouses and factories across the state.
Join us on Thursday, August 12th from 12 – 1 p.m. (ET) as we learn about overcoming language barriers in the workplace with the Morales Group, one of the prominent regional staffing agencies in this sector, LUNA Language Services, the largest local language service provider in the state of Indiana, and GEODIS, a global logistics company with locations here in Indiana.
🎥 We will be recording the session and sending a link to the recording out to all registered participants.
🤟 An ASL interpreter will be provided.
