What do mental health services for the Deaf population
look like in Indiana? During this workshop ASL interpreters at all stages of skill and experience, will discuss barriers Deaf and hard of hearing individuals face when trying to access culturally affirmative mental health services. We will review “case studies” that will include symptoms, various diagnosis and treatment/interpreting options when working with dysfluency. Together, we will discuss scenarios and strategies for interpreting in a diverse linguistic community. LUNA is committed to creating and promoting a non-discriminatory environment of mutual respect and free from bias.
This workshop will be conducted in ASL. For accommodations please e-mail traning@LUNA360.com. Cancellations 24 hours prior to the event will receive a full refund.
