The current unemployment rate in Indiana is a mere 2.2% and most employers are hyper-focused on improving and expanding upon their talent acquisition and retention practices.
Now consider that the unemployment rate for foreign-born persons in the United States was 9.2% in 2020, up sharply from 3.1% in 2019, [U.S. Bureau of Labor statistics], creating an improperly tapped pool of incredible talent.
Here in Indiana, we have welcomed immigrants and refugees from more than 160 countries and have over 100 languages used among our residents. With a robust manufacturing and logistics sector in Indiana, many immigrant Hoosiers have found meaningful employment opportunities in the wide variety of warehouses and factories across the state.
Join us as we discuss how you can better harness the talent of immigrant workers to build better futures for more Hoosiers and to help more members of our community thrive.
